Why We Built This Site
Public access in West Virginia does not mean every Braxton County case appears in one database. WVPASS covers public Circuit Court records, while MCR provides basic Magistrate Court case information without document images. Circuit Clerk Susan Lemon keeps Circuit and Family Court files. Magistrate Court Clerk Sharon Yost maintains the magistrate docket. Town offices route local ordinance cases, and the County Clerk handles a separate body of county, land, vital, election, and probate records.
The site organizes those boundaries around practical tasks: finding a hearing, reading a docket entry, locating a filing, and asking the proper office for a copy. Official sources remain the authority. A portal entry may be incomplete, out of date, restricted, or at a different court level.

What We Cannot Do
Braxton County Court Docket is a private reference resource. It is not part of any West Virginia court, clerk's office, town, county office, or state agency. Its role has firm limits:
- We cannot retrieve or issue an official docket or case file.
- We cannot set, change, or confirm a court date.
- We cannot remove, seal, correct, or amend a court record.
- We cannot provide a certified copy of an order or filing.
- We cannot give legal advice about a case or deadline.
- We cannot guarantee that a listed fee, contact, or setting remains current.
Only the court or clerk that maintains the source record can authenticate a docket, issue a certified copy, or confirm current case activity.
Search Partners
Some content pages contain search tools supplied by outside providers. Those providers operate under their own terms, control their prices, and determine what their results contain. A paid signup reached through such a tool may generate a referral fee that supports this free resource. We do not control a partner's database, billing, coverage, or result quality. The official court portal and originating clerk should be used to verify every case record.
